Description
Spore Saver is a powerful anti-bacterial that inhibits protein synthesis in bacteria.
It is widely used in agar and liquid culture formulations due to its unique ability to withstand high temperatures during autoclave sterilization. Yes, this is 100% autoclavable!
Using Spore Saver in agar and liquid cultures will quickly clean up wild spore prints and contaminated cultures. It halts bacteria while allowing spores and mycelium to thrive.
- Each vial comes with 4ml of Spore Saver Solution. Simply add 1ml per 250ml of agar or liquid culture media.
- Can be added before or after sterilizing prepared media for use.
Spore Saver is not intended to clean liquid cultures or agar plates with pre-existing bacterial contamination. Cultures or spores that have already succumbed to contamination should be transferred onto a fresh agar plate treated with Spore Savor for it to be effective.
Once spores or cultures have been cleaned, transfer them to a fresh agar plate or liquid culture, without Spore Saver, for storage.
